What Is IPTAY?
Supporting the success of Clemson’s student-athletes in the classroom and on the field since 1934.
- Originally, the letters IPTAY stood for “I pay ten a year.” Begun in 1934 to give the Clemson athletic program the support it needed, IPTAY is now one of the most successful athletic fundraising organizations. IPTAY donors provide millions of dollars in scholarships for student-athletes and non-athletes alike.
- IPTAY raises money to support student-athlete scholarships, academic support services, new and upgraded facilities, nutrition services, strength and conditioning, and more.
- IPTAY programs include the Tiger Cub Club (birth-12), IPTAY Collegiate Club, IPTAY Young Alumni, IPTAY Annual Fund, Major Gifts, Premium Seating, Planned Giving, and the Block C Club.
IPTAY Annual Fund
The IPTAY Annual Fund provides consistency, support, and loyalty —year after year.
The long history of support from IPTAY annual donors has given IPTAY the visibility and support needed to fund scholarships for thousands of student-athletes while strengthening Clemson athletics in other ways. The IPTAY annual fund is vital to the successful growth of Clemson athletics. Through the generosity of over 22,000 donors, IPTAY is able to provide support for the following:
Varsity Athletic Programs At Clemson
All 21 programs are fully supported by IPTAY.
Women’s Athletics at Clemson University
Athletics for women at Clemson began in 1975 with the announcement of women’s basketball. Nearly 50 years later, Clemson athletics proudly sponsors 12 NCAA Division I women’s programs. These programs have claimed an impressive 39 ACC regular-season or tournament team championships, 49 women are enshrined in the Clemson Athletic Hall of Fame, and former Clemson alumnae have earned 10 Olympic medals. Outside of competition, our Tigers have posted record-setting GPAs and become leaders professionally in their families and communities. We have much to be proud of as supporters of women’s athletics and our young women who proudly wear the Paw!
The momentum behind the growth of athletic opportunities for women at Clemson has never been more tremendous. Within the last decade, Clemson athletics has added women’s golf (2012-13), softball (2019-20), and announced the sponsorship of women’s lacrosse (2022-23) and women’s gymnastics (2023-24). In the spring of 2022, a comprehensive women’s athletic facility plan was formalized, and POWER: Women’s Leadership Academy was officially launched. Today is a pinnacle moment in Clemson women’s athletics; we are climbing to new heights, and it is time to Hear Her Roar!
Hear Her Roar
Hear Her Roar, a fundraising initiative led by IPTAY, raises awareness and financial support for Clemson’s women student-athletes, providing them a premier collegiate experience both athletically and academically.
Supporters of IPTAY and Hear Her Roar play an integral part in:
- Providing scholarships, a nationally acclaimed academic experience, and state-of-the art training facilities and competition venues ensuring success both academically and athletically.
- Empowering and developing female student-athletes to become leaders in their workplace, family, and community.

Parent Football Ticket Options
- Join IPTAY at the Purple ($200) level or above and contact the Clemson Athletic Ticket Office.
- Join at Orange level to receive Parking
- Everyone that requests new tickets, wants to relocate existing tickets, or purchase
additional tickets are lumped in together and ranked by current year IPTAY giving level and then by IPTAY priority points within that level. - Parking locations are allocated annually based on current year IPTAY giving level and then by IPTAY priority points within that level.
- For new donors, the higher your giving level the better your season ticket seats will be.
- If you join at a higher level, you’re not required to remain at that level every year moving forward. You can readjust your giving level and keep your assigned seats as long as you meet the seat equity minimum requirements.
Clemson, like other top-20 attendance leaders, added a preferred seating component to our annual giving program in 2008. Under this plan, season ticket holders who give at or above the specific per-seat value qualify for specific seating in Memorial Stadium. In recent adjustments to the seat equity plan, all season tickets in Memorial Stadium available for purchase require a per-seat donation. These adjustments were determined and endorsed by the IPTAY Board of Directors and the Athletic Department.
To estimate the minimum IPTAY donation required to renew your seats, simply multiple the value for your section by the number of tickets you have in that specific location. As a reminder, the maximum number of season tickets an IPTAY Donor is eligible to purchase each season is determined by your IPTAY annual giving level.
Seat Equity Plan Equation: IPTAY Seat Value x Number of Seats = Required IPTAY donation
Per-seat donations are a common system utilized in intercollegiate athletics to enhance the annual support provided to student-athletes. When the initial IPTAY Seat Equity Plan was announced and implemented in 2008, modified in 2013 and 2017, one component of the plan permitted periodic marketplace reviews of the values of each section of seating in Memorial Stadium. The diagram below shows the current per-seat donations that have been implemented for the IPTAY 2023 year.
Please note meeting the per-seat donation does not guarantee assignment in the location. New or additional football season tickets are assigned by IPTAY level and priority points within that level.
