From our entire IPTAY and Clemson Athletics team, we hope you and your family are continuing to stay safe.
As noted in a prior communication this summer, a full refund option and a partial refund option are available for donations made this year related to the 2020 football season. On this page you will find details on the options as well as necessary action items to complete if you would like a full or partial refund on your donation.
In recognition of the potential financial impact on IPTAY and Clemson athletics caused by circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IPTAY Board of Directors have approved awarding bonus priority points for the IPTAY year 2020 (July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020). I encourage you to review the bonus point information below as this is a one-time initiative with significant bonus priority points being awarded to those who decide to leave their donation with IPTAY in 2020.

IPTAY 2020 Donation Flexibility
We understand that during these unique times that receiving a full or partial refund on your IPTAY 2020 donation is important. On this page scenarios have been mapped out for you, our donors, with options on how you would like to handle your contributions to IPTAY this year. Please know throughout the decision making process, the safety and well being of our Clemson Family is of top priority.
Special Notes
- All donors have the option to receive a full or partial refund on their IPTAY 2020 donation.
- Donors who would prefer not to attend Clemson football this year due to the current health climate, will be able to retain their season ticket location priority for the 2021 season. To be eligible, the donor must have met the IPTAY 2020, June 30th donation deadline and completed the season ticket request process. In addition, donors who choose not to attend Clemson football games this year are able to request a refund for IPTAY 2020, and still keep their season ticket priority for the 2021 season. The ticket office has released the “Redshirt” options for fans who would prefer not to attend Clemson football games this year. The deadline to “Redshirt” is August 21. For the IPTAY 2021 year the donor who redshirts will need to join IPTAY, have their donation meet or exceed the assigned seat equity value, be at the appropriate donation level required for season ticket quantity eligibility, and meet all posted deadlines.
- Full or partial refunds on IPTAY 2020 donations will affect the donor’s ability to request tickets for all upcoming athletic events in all sports for the 2020-21 athletic year. Donors must leave 50% or more of their IPTAY 2020 donation to be eligible to receive season or request tickets to the following Clemson athletic events for the upcoming athletic year: football, baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, softball, College Football Playoff, National Championship, ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament and more.
- New donors and donors who requested new season ticket assignments that received an improvement for the 2020 football season, may request a full or partial refund in 2020, but must come back in at the same donation level in IPTAY 2021 to receive the seats assigned for the 2020 football season.
- The deadline to request an IPTAY 2020 donation refund request for donors who “opted-in” for the 2020 football season was September 2, 2020. The deadline to request an IPTAY 2020 donation refund request for donors who “redshirted” and “opted-out” for the 2020 football season was September 9, 2020.
IPTAY 2020 Bonus Point Program
The IPTAY 2020 Bonus Point Program consists of two ways to acquire bonus points on a donors’ IPTAY Priority Point total. The information below is strictly related to bonus points.
Opportunity #1: Donors who leave 100% of their 2020 donation with IPTAY will receive 100 bonus points and donors who leave 50% – 99.9% of their 2020 donation will receive 50 bonus points. These bonus points will count towards the donors’ cumulative IPTAY Priority Point total and will remain with the donor for the lifetime of their account.
- If a donor leaves less than 50% of their IPTAY 2020 donation they will not receive any bonus points for the IPTAY 2020 year.
Opportunity #2: IPTAY donors who purchase football season tickets will also have the opportunity to donate their season ticket payments to IPTAY. For each season ticket donated to IPTAY, the donor will receive 5 bonus points. These bonus points will count towards the donors’ cumulative IPTAY Priority Point total and will remain with the donor for the lifetime of their account.
- Football season ticket money donated to IPTAY will also count toward the donor’s cumulative giving. For example, if a donor donates two season tickets to IPTAY, the $860 ($430 per season ticket) will also earn the donor 3.44 IPTAY Priority Points. Note: The season ticket cost for Young Alumni donors and Faculty/Staff is $344.
Example: The example below is for a Jervey ($5,000) donor who leaves 100% of donation with IPTAY and donates four football season tickets ($430 x 4 = $1,720) to IPTAY.

- A donor in between giving levels would need to remain at their originally pledged donation amount to revive all 100 bonus points. Example: A Fike donor at $8,900 could not drop to $8,000 and still receive 100 bonus points. That donor would receive 50 points.
- Faculty/Staff, IPTAY Young Alumni and Life Plus donor bonus points are based on personal cash given in IPTAY 2020.

- The Young Alumni and Faculty/Staff season ticket cost for the 2020 season is $344. This is not reflected in the chart above. For cumulative giving point purposes, Young Alumni and Faculty/Staff tickets donated to IPTAY will only reflect $344 per ticket. Bonus points awarded will be 5 points per ticket donated.
Football Premium Seat Ticket Bonus Points: For the 2020 Clemson football season, any premium seat holder in either the Yount’s South Club or WestZone Club who allows IPTAY to retain dollars associated with the club ticket cost, catering, and premium donation will receive 15 bonus points per ticket. Any Club seat ticket dollars deferred to the 2021 season are not included in the bonus process.
IPTAY 2020 Donation Refund Options
Donation Option #1:
Allow IPTAY to retain the entirety of the donors’ IPTAY 2020 annual donation to assist with annual costs such as scholarships, academic enrichment and facility obligations. No action is necessary to complete this option. Thank you for your generosity and support of our 19-sport program during these difficult times.
Bonus Points: Donors who leave 100% of their 2020 donation with IPTAY will receive 100 IPTAY Priority Point bonus points for the IPTAY 2020 year.
Donation Option #2:
Allow IPTAY to retain a portion of the donors’ IPTAY 2020 donation to assist with annual costs such as scholarships, academic enrichment and facility obligations. The amount can be specified by the donor. Donor must leave 50% of their IPTAY 2020 donation to be eligible to receive season or request tickets to the following Clemson athletic events for the 2020-21 athletic year: football, baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, softball, College Football Playoff, National Championship, ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament and more.
Bonus Points: Donors who leave 50% – 99.9% of their 2020 donation with IPTAY will receive 50 IPTAY Priority Point bonus points for the IPTAY 2020 year. The donor’s priority point total will be reduced for the refunded gift amount and potential reduced level.
The deadline to make an IPTAY 2020 donation refund request for donors who “opted-in” for the 2020 football season was September 2, 2020. The deadline to make an IPTAY 2020 donation refund request for donors who “redshirted” and “opted-out” for the 2020 football season was September 9, 2020.
Donation Option #3:
Full refund of IPTAY 2020 annual donation to donor. Donors who receive a full refund will not be eligible to receive season or request tickets to the following Clemson athletic events for the 2020-21 athletic year: football, baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, softball, College Football Playoff, National Championship, ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament and more.
Bonus Points: By requesting a full refund on your IPTAY 2020 donation you will not receive any bonus points for the IPTAY 2020 year, and your priority points will be reduced for the refunded gifts, gift level, and 2020 year.

1. I am concerned about the current health environment, but would like to return in 2021. What are my options?
Donors who would prefer not to attend Clemson football this year due to the current health climate, will be able to retain their season ticket location priority for the 2021 season. Donors who have taken a “redshirt” and “opted-out” for the 2020 football season and would like to request a refund on their IPTAY 2020 donation, must have done so by September 9, 2020.
3. Has the IPTAY 2021 fiscal year been adjusted due to COVID-19?
No, the deadlines for the IPTAY 2021 year have remained the same. The deadline to pledge and complete 50% of your IPTAY 2021 pledge is February 15, 2021 and the deadline to complete the entirety of that pledge is June 1, 2021.
4. If I decrease my IPTAY 2020 donation and giving level will that affect my seating and parking assignments for the 2020-2021 athletic year?
Yes, your seating and parking assignments will affected if you decrease your IPTAY 2020 donation and level. Assignments will be made based off your final decision on your IPTAY 2020 donation. This includes the 2020 football season.
