IPTAY Readies For New Donor Loyalty Program

For more than nine decades, IPTAY has been supported by the generosity of the Clemson Family. The incredible philanthropic spirit has propelled the Clemson University Athletic Department forward, resulting in thousands of degrees earned and championships won.

From humble beginnings in 1934 to reaching the one-million-dollar mark for the first time in 1977, and over $88 million raised in 2025, IPTAY’s success is attributed to its loyal supporters. In 1934, during the organization’s inaugural year, IPTAY donors totaled 162. In contrast, that number has now grown to over 22,000 donors in 2025. While much has changed over the last 90 years, the mission of IPTAY has remained the same: to provide resources that support the academic, athletic, and personal development of Clemson University student-athletes and the competitive success of Clemson Athletics. That mission has and continues to be fulfilled by a tradition-rich grassroots effort of people giving what they can, collectively making a difference in the lives of Clemson student-athletes.

The faithfulness, devotion, and pride in being an IPTAY donor are what set IPTAY apart from its peers across the country. For many, being an IPTAY donor is rooted in a tradition that often spans generations. At Clemson, IPTAY is synonymous with the Clemson Tigers and is built on an unmatched identity of community. Therefore, in celebration of IPTAY’s dedicated and devoted donors, both longtime and more recent, IPTAY is set to launch a new program, IPTAY Loyalty, as a component of its membership programming.

IPTAY CEO, Davis Babb, recently discussed the new initiative, sharing the remarks below:

“Daily, we hear from donors sharing their Clemson story with us and how their IPTAY membership has been woven into their specific journey. For some, that story has just begun, and for others, it spans decades and even generations. This new initiative will provide a platform to recognize and thank both those who have been committed to our cause for a long time and those who have recently joined. We are ecstatic about the opportunity and look forward to sharing more with you later this year.”

IPTAY Loyalty will focus on years of giving and longevity, rather than specific donation amounts. The program will provide a method in which IPTAY can show appreciation, recognize and acknowledge those donors who have reached and surpassed significant years of giving milestones. Details and the debut of IPTAY Loyalty are scheduled for later this year.
