Brown Named IPTAY Chief Operations Officer
On Thursday, July 28, IPTAY CEO Davis Babb and the IPTAY Board of Directors named Brad Brown Chief Operations Officer of IPTAY. Brown comes to IPTAY after serving as the Deputy Director of Athletics at the University of New Hampshire. Brown will serve as IPTAY’s first-ever Chief Operations Officer (COO).
“We are incredibly excited about the future of IPTAY and its strategic vision with Brad joining our leadership team as Chief Operations Officer,” said Babb. “Brad is an experienced leader and is well-respected in the college athletics community. Having Brad join the IPTAY family will be important as IPTAY continues to expand the support that it offers to Clemson athletics. The strength of IPTAY’s operation will only continue to advance with Brad joining our team.”
As COO of IPTAY, Brown will focus on developing and maintaining positive and productive relationships with key internal and external constituents, assisting the CEO in strategic planning and goal setting, and advising the CEO on all operational‐related issues. As IPTAY’s team and reach continue to grow, Brown will play an integral role in the special initiatives contributing to that growth.
“Clemson is a special place with strong history and tradition, so it’s an honor to be a part of the university community and IPTAY team,” said Brown. “I’d like to thank Davis Babb, the search committee, IPTAY Board of Directors and Clemson athletics for the opportunity to work alongside a talented staff, dedicated to the mission of supporting Clemson student-athletes and programs during this transformative time in college athletics. It’s clear that first-class leadership, resolute alignment, and the perpetual pursuit of excellence exists at the institution and within the athletics mission. I’m proud to be joining that effort and look forward to getting started.”
As Deputy Director of Athletics at the University of New Hampshire (UNH), Brown was responsible for the department-wide budget and implementing controls and processes to support internal operations. He was also responsible for all revenue-generating initiatives surrounding the department, including but not limited to, oversight of 2021-22 ticket sales that finished the season 120% to goal. Brown played an integral part in managing capital projects for the Wildcats, including an ongoing Whittemore Center Arena renovation project valued at $6M. He also championed negotiating a strategic partnership that provided the department with outbound ticket sales and service.
Prior to UNH, Brown spent 11 years at Army West Point, most recently as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations from 2019-21. At Army, Brown was a key member of the project management team for the Michie Stadium Preservation project, valued at $125M. Additionally, he managed a cumulative annual budget of $1.47M and had oversight of the department’s procurement operation.
